Lisa Wheeler (associate artistic director) received a BA degree in Dance and Theater from Columbia College, SC, and began dancing in New York City in 1988. She was a member of Dan Wagoner and Dancers—where she first met young Ben Munisteri—for five years and has performed with John Evans, Tom Thayer, Keith Glassman, Blondell Cummings, Risa Jaroslow, Elizabeth Streb/Ringside, and Hilary Easton. This year Lisa was the Artistic Coordinator for the pilot project of the National Center for Choreography, where she assisted Mr. Wagoner in restaging his masterwork Dolly Sods: After the Flood. Lisa is an associate member of the Power Company, a South Carolina-based modern dance company, and in 2003 she was awarded the Career Achievement Award from her alma mater. Her alter ego makes fitness videos and is the host of a dance/fitness show on the Health Network. Lisa is grateful for the past 13 years she has performed with Ben, and for all the dancers with whom she has shared the stage |
